JULY 2004

The pile caps were intended to be constructed from the east side working towards the west. This was the planned sequencing for all the works.

AUGUST 2004

The ground floor slab was not on the critical path. The contractor planned two areas of construction for the superstructure - North & South and the sections worked towards each other from the East.

SEPTEMBER 2004

By month four, all of the ground works are completed and the slabs on Level 6 have commenced. The extension of the APM tunnels in the centre of the site are also nearly completed.

OCTOBER 2004

The rate of concrete pouring was planned to be at the peak at this stage with large areas of the ground floor and suspended slabs completed.

NOVEMBER 2004

The concreting works are nearly completed in all the key areas. The superstructure for the North Office has also commenced.

DECEMBER 2004

The new departures road and base slab for the new bus interchange are completed. The protective deck will commence on the east perimeter of Level 6 to allow the facade installation commence.

January 2005

The primary steel for the 36mx36m 2 way spanning roof trusses commences. the contractor planned to erect the steel by using tower cranes on moving bogies.

FEBruary 2005

As the roof steelwork is completed in large areas, the roof sheeting commences. The acoustic roof panels were planned to be erected in pre-fabricated panels. The main facade installation has also commenced in two areas.

MARCH 2005

The steelwork is nearly complete and the North Office building structure is nearing completion.

APRIL 2005

The roof sheeting and facade is completed. The building is water tight and the M&E and architectural fitout commences
